Thank you for your generous contributions to ADP's earthquake relief funds. Your support helped provide food, shelter and medical aid to thousands of victims. With the relief effort gradually transitioning to reconstruction in the coming months, we have decided to focus our fundraising only on reconstruction efforts. We have thus stopped collecting donations for Edhi and RSD, our two external partners in this effort.
The need for rebuilding schools, homes and livelihoods is tremendous though, and we encourage you to consider donating to the ADP Redevelopment Fund, which will support carefully selected NGO reconstruction projects through the rest of 2006. |

ADP Earthquake Redevelopment Fund |
| Donations will support selected NGO redevelopment projects in the affected areas. We are in close contact with several local partners on the status of reconstruction. Most are currently waiting for a detailed plan from the government’s Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation Authority (“ERRA”), as well as the arrival of Spring to begin reconstruction. We anticipate receiving the first set of reconstruction proposals in the March/April timeframe, and will keep you informed as we begin to evaluate and fund these efforts. |

Update: ADP Relief Shelter Drive |
Soon after the earthquake, we were approached by Sarah Karim, an ADP member and Co-Director of Impak, with a unique grassroots effort that had emerged in response. Sarah was part of the Relief Shelter Drive, a group of Pakistanis who came together to focus on the immediate shelter needs of the millions of homeless victims. Having known Sarah for a while, we were able to quickly become comfortable with RSD. After some intensive Q&A and additional reference checks, our members voted to create an RSD fund on our website. We raised over $90,000 through this vehicle.
RSD proved to be incredibly resourceful and effective. Leveraging close relationships with local NGOs such as EHD and RSPN, it identified villages in need of aid and procured and delivered cost-effective shelters. To date, RSD has helped provide shelters to over 1,000 families in the form of tents, corrugated tin-roof houses and sand-bag igloos. The group plans to provide housing for another 200-400 families in the coming months. More details on their work will be posted on the RSD website soon. |

Update: ADP Edhi Foundation Fund |
Within 36 hours of the earthquake, our volunteers in Pakistan had spoken to Mr. Abdul-Sattar Edhi and selected his organization as uniquely capable of launching an organized response. Since Edhi does not have the functionality to collect donations online, we decided to create a fund dedicated to their efforts. In the months after the earthquake, ADP’s website becoming the primary online vehicle for giving to Edhi, and we were able to raise over $263,000 before closing the fund.
Edhi has been widely acknowledged as one of the most organized and effective delivery networks for the provision of food, shelter and medical aid to the victims of the earthquake. The organization continues to deliver 50-60 truckloads of relief supplies and operate relief camps in the northern areas today. It has also imported tin sheets from India to help rebuild homes for over 20,000 families. The Foundation intends to provide a more detailed report on its activities soon. |

Update: ADP President's Relief Fund |
Realizing that the scale and remoteness of the disaster necessitated a broad Government response, ADP provided donors the option of giving to President Musharraf’s Relief Fund online. After raising over $40,000 in just a few weeks, we closed the fund once the government had launched an online donation page via UBL.
PRF donations are being used to mount the largest relief and rehabilitation effort in the country’s history. The army was instrumental in saving thousands of lives in the immediate aftermath by airlifting supplies to and the injured from remote villages. Millions of tons of food, shelter and medicines were delivered, as well as cash stipends to families to allow them to rebuild. In the coming months, the PRF will fund reconstruction throughout the region. |

“In the wake of the earthquake’s devastation, it is imperative that we move quickly to organize the relief effort here in the US. ADP, among others, has been actively involved in meeting the development challenges of Pakistan in the past and now it is using its network of members and partners to coordinate and organize fundraising on behalf of the earthquake relief effort. Please contribute generously to this important cause.” - Barry Hoffman, Honorary Consul General for Pakistan in Boston
"It's times like these when we need to be extra generous. Let our fellow brothers and sisters know back home that we may not be there to use our hands to help them, but our hearts and prayers are with them every moment of the day. Kudos to ADP who responded right away and allowed people outside of Pakistan to help those in need in less than 36 hours. I encourage you all to show highest level of generosity and say out loud - WE ARE WITH YOU." - Salman Ahmad
